How to cancel Sling TV

If you subscribed through an app store: Sling TV is managed through your Sling account, not as an Apple App Store or Google Play in-app subscription, so in almost all cases you cancel at sling.com/my-account, NOT in the App Store or Play Store. Sling does accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other digital-wallet/third-party billing methods, but those are payment methods, not app-store subscriptions, and you still cancel inside your Sling account. One related limitation confirmed on Sling's official page: the pause feature is unavailable for subscriptions paid via Apple Pay, Google Pay, gift card only, BitPay, or other third-party billing services, but cancellation through My Account still works for these. Roku-billed Sling is a special case: even though Roku processes the charge, Roku's own official support page says you must contact Sling TV directly (888-394-6698) to manage or cancel a Roku-billed Sling subscription rather than cancelling in Roku. Steps to cancel Sling TV

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://www.sling.com/my-account (or go to sling.com and click the person/account icon). Sign in with your Sling email and password. The mobile app cannot be used to cancel; use a web browser.
  2. On the My Account dashboard, find your active recurring monthly subscription and select 'Manage'.
  3. Select 'Cancel'. Note: 1 Day, 3 Day, and 7 Day Passes cannot be cancelled or paused; they simply expire on their own and do not auto-renew.
  4. If Sling offers you a pause instead (Manage shows 'See pause options' for 1, 2, or 3 months) or any other retention offer, ignore it and keep selecting 'Cancel' to continue.
  5. Keep clicking through the confirmation prompts (Sling shows a summary of what you'll lose) until you reach a final screen confirming your subscription will not renew.
  6. Check your email for the cancellation confirmation message from Sling. Sling states it sends a confirmation email when you cancel.
  7. Verify it worked: sign back in to My Account. If cancelled correctly, the page shows options to restart/resubscribe (do NOT click those). If you still see a 'Cancel Subscription' button, it did not cancel; scroll down and select 'Cancel Subscription' again.
  8. Deleting the Sling app does NOT cancel your subscription. Sling confirms you must sign in to My Account and cancel there.
  9. If you are billed through Roku, you still cancel by contacting Sling TV directly, not through Roku (Roku only processes the charge). If you cannot reach My Account due to errors or long load times, try a private/incognito window or clear your browser cache, or use Sling's 24/7 chatbot.
Watch for the save offer. During cancellation Sling steers you toward pausing instead of cancelling. From 'Manage' you may see 'See pause options' (pause 1, 2, or 3 months, after which the subscription auto-restarts) and a 'Pause Extra' upsell ($5/month deposit, refunded when your subscription restarts). To fully cancel, ignore the pause prompts and keep selecting 'Cancel' until you reach the final non-renewal confirmation screen. Pausing keeps your subscription on file and it auto-restarts, so a pause is not the same as a cancellation.

Refunds

No refunds for cancellation of prepaid or partial months. Sling's official help page states verbatim that it only provides refunds for special circumstances, not for the cancellation of prepaid or partial months of service. After you cancel, access continues until the end of the already-paid billing cycle, but no money is returned for unused time. Some secondary sources report a narrow exception (cancelling an annual/prepay plan within the first month may be eligible for a partial refund), but this is NOT confirmed on Sling's own cancellation/billing pages, so verify with Sling before relying on it.

Cancellation is fully self-service online through the Sling My Account dashboard; no phone call or in-person visit is required.
