How to cancel Sling TV

Steps to cancel Sling TV
- Open a web browser and go to https://www.sling.com/my-account (or go to sling.com and click the person/account icon). Sign in with your Sling email and password. The mobile app cannot be used to cancel; use a web browser.
- On the My Account dashboard, find your active recurring monthly subscription and select 'Manage'.
- Select 'Cancel'. Note: 1 Day, 3 Day, and 7 Day Passes cannot be cancelled or paused; they simply expire on their own and do not auto-renew.
- If Sling offers you a pause instead (Manage shows 'See pause options' for 1, 2, or 3 months) or any other retention offer, ignore it and keep selecting 'Cancel' to continue.
- Keep clicking through the confirmation prompts (Sling shows a summary of what you'll lose) until you reach a final screen confirming your subscription will not renew.
- Check your email for the cancellation confirmation message from Sling. Sling states it sends a confirmation email when you cancel.
- Verify it worked: sign back in to My Account. If cancelled correctly, the page shows options to restart/resubscribe (do NOT click those). If you still see a 'Cancel Subscription' button, it did not cancel; scroll down and select 'Cancel Subscription' again.
- Deleting the Sling app does NOT cancel your subscription. Sling confirms you must sign in to My Account and cancel there.
- If you are billed through Roku, you still cancel by contacting Sling TV directly, not through Roku (Roku only processes the charge). If you cannot reach My Account due to errors or long load times, try a private/incognito window or clear your browser cache, or use Sling's 24/7 chatbot.
Sling TV cancellation phone
888-394-6698 (Sling does not publish a phone number on its own help/contact pages; its contact page offers a 24/7 chatbot plus live agent support (the agent can join chat or call you back) from 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM ET. The 888-394-6698 number is published on Roku's official support page as the way to reach Sling TV directly, including for Roku-billed subscriptions. Cancellation does not require any phone call.)
Things to watch out for
- No refunds for partial or prepaid months. If your bill renewed recently, you have already paid for the full upcoming cycle and will not get that money back, though you keep access until the cycle ends.
- Cancel before your next billing date to avoid the next charge. Access continues until the date of your next regular bill.
- If you signed up via a free trial or promotion, cancel before the trial/promo period ends or your card will be charged automatically for the regular rate. Check the exact trial end date shown in your account, since Sling's trial offers vary.
- Deleting the Sling app does NOT cancel your subscription. You must sign in to My Account and cancel there (confirmed on Sling's official help page).
- 1 Day, 3 Day, and 7 Day Passes cannot be cancelled or paused. They expire on their own and do not auto-renew.
- Pause is not cancellation. A paused subscription auto-restarts after 1 to 3 months, and Pause Extra costs a $5/month deposit (refunded on restart).
- If billed through Roku, cancel by contacting Sling directly, not through Roku (Roku only processes the charge). Verify Roku billing at my.roku.com/subscriptions.
- If you are still being charged after cancelling, first re-check that the cancellation actually completed, then check whether you have a second Sling account under a different email (use Sling's forgot-email/forgot-password pages).
- If the cancel page errors or loads slowly, use a private/incognito browser window or clear your browser cache, then retry (this is Sling's official suggested fix).
- Confirm cancellation via the email Sling sends and by re-checking My Account (it should show restart/resubscribe options, not a Cancel button).
Refunds
No refunds for cancellation of prepaid or partial months. Sling's official help page states verbatim that it only provides refunds for special circumstances, not for the cancellation of prepaid or partial months of service. After you cancel, access continues until the end of the already-paid billing cycle, but no money is returned for unused time. Some secondary sources report a narrow exception (cancelling an annual/prepay plan within the first month may be eligible for a partial refund), but this is NOT confirmed on Sling's own cancellation/billing pages, so verify with Sling before relying on it.
Cancellation is fully self-service online through the Sling My Account dashboard; no phone call or in-person visit is required. Path verified verbatim on Sling's own help page (2026): sign in to My Account, select Manage, then Cancel. Sling's own help page links to /my-account as the account dashboard. Access continues until the next bill date and Sling emails a confirmation. The phone number 888-394-6698 is verified on Roku's official support page (updated 6/9/2026) as the contact for Sling TV, including for Roku-billed subscriptions; it is not published on Sling's own contact page, which instead offers a 24/7 chatbot and live agent support from 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM ET. The annual-plan first-month refund exception comes only from secondary sources and is not confirmed on Sling's official pages.
