How to cancel Shudder

If you subscribed through an app store: Shudder is frequently billed through third parties, and the cancellation path depends on who charges you. If you signed up inside the Shudder iOS app, billing is through Apple and you must cancel in iPhone or iPad Settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Shudder > Cancel Subscription) or on Mac via App Store > [your name] > Account Settings > Subscriptions; Shudder cannot cancel an Apple-billed plan for you. If you subscribed via Amazon (Prime Video Channels), cancel in Amazon's Memberships & Subscriptions. If via Roku (Roku Channels), cancel under Roku's Manage Subscriptions. Only subscribers who pay Shudder directly (via shudder.com) cancel through Shudder's site or the current cutover email-request form. Tip: if the charge on your statement comes from Apple, Amazon, or Roku rather than Shudder, cancel with that platform.

Steps to cancel Shudder

  1. FIRST, identify where you signed up and pay. If you pay Shudder directly, follow the Shudder steps below. If you subscribed through Apple, Amazon/Prime Video Channels, or Roku Channels, you MUST cancel through that platform instead (see billed_via_appstore_note).
  2. DIRECT-BILLED (normal flow): Go to shudder.com and click Sign In, then log in with your account email and password.
  3. Click My Account in the top right corner.
  4. Scroll down to the Membership Settings section and click Cancel Membership, then follow the prompts (you may see an 'I want to cancel' / 'Cancel My Membership' step, then 'No thanks, finish my cancellation') to confirm.
  5. IMPORTANT (current cutover period): Shudder is launching a new experience and membership changes in the site and app are temporarily unavailable. To cancel right now, open the official cutover cancellation page at https://support.shudder.com/kb/guide/en/shudder-cutover-period-cancellation-DGpMciAHaZ/Steps/4750682 , enter the email address tied to your account in the 'Email address*' field, and click 'Request Cancellation'. Shudder processes the request, and if your billing date falls within the transition window you will not be billed in the meantime.
  6. Watch for a confirmation message and/or email. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  7. APPLE-BILLED: On iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Shudder, then tap Cancel Subscription. On Mac open the App Store app, click your name, click Account Settings, click Subscriptions, click Shudder, click Cancel Subscription.
  8. AMAZON/PRIME-BILLED: Cancel under Amazon's Memberships & Subscriptions (Prime Video Channels). ROKU-BILLED: Cancel under Manage Subscriptions on your Roku device or Roku account. Verify exact menu wording with that provider's help pages.
Watch for the save offer. No specific retention or discounted save offer is documented on Shudder's official help pages. Shudder has no pause option, so expect a straightforward cancel rather than a heavy retention flow; if any discount or win-back offer appears during the flow, it is optional.

Things to watch out for

Refunds

Shudder generally does not refund partial or unused time; after cancelling you keep access until the end of the current billing cycle. Third-party guides report a limited refund window (about 2 days after a monthly charge / 7 days after an annual charge) via the support contact form with 'REFUND REQUEST' in the subject; this is not confirmed on Shudder's own help pages. If billed through Apple, Amazon, or Roku, any refund must be requested from that platform under its own refund policy.

Shudder is currently in a cutover period (new experience launch under AMC Networks) that temporarily disables in-account membership changes; the official direct-cancel method right now is the email-based 'Request Cancellation' form on the cutover help page. The standard in-account flow is My Account > Membership Settings > Cancel Membership, which is the path once the cutover ends.
