How to cancel CuriosityStream

Go to the CuriosityStream cancellation page →If you subscribed through an app store: CuriosityStream supports BOTH direct website billing and third-party app-store billing, so the cancel path depends on where you signed up. Website (curiositystream.com) subscribers cancel in their account under Plan and Payment > Manage Plan > Cancel Plan. Anyone who subscribed through Apple/iTunes, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon is billed by that platform and MUST cancel there; the CuriosityStream site cannot cancel or refund those subscriptions. To check which you have: a website subscriber will see a Cancel Plan option inside curiositystream.com/account; if that option is missing or your receipts come from Apple/Google/Roku/Amazon, cancel via that store's Subscriptions screen instead.
Steps to cancel CuriosityStream
- Confirm HOW you pay first: if you signed up on the CuriosityStream website, cancel there (steps below); if you signed up through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon, you must cancel through that platform instead (see gotchas).
- WEBSITE BILLING: Go to curiositystream.com and log in, then open Your Account at curiositystream.com/account (or click the profile icon, top right, and choose My Account).
- Scroll to the Plan and Payment section near the bottom.
- Click Manage Plan (right side).
- Click Cancel Plan in the top right corner.
- Follow the prompts to confirm. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing/Subscription Period and you keep access until then; watch for a confirmation email.
- ROKU BILLING: Press Home, highlight the CuriosityStream channel, press the Star (*) button, choose Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription, and confirm.
- APPLE/iTunes BILLING: On iPhone/iPad open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select CuriosityStream, then Cancel Subscription.
- GOOGLE PLAY BILLING: Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, select CuriosityStream, then Cancel subscription.
- AMAZON BILLING: Sign in to Amazon, go to Your Apps and Devices / Your Subscriptions under Manage, find Curiosity Stream, click Actions, and turn off auto-renewal / cancel.
- If the website cancel option will not work, email help@curiositystream.com to cancel (the Terms allow cancellation by logging in OR by emailing support).
Watch for the save offer. No specific retention or save offer is documented in CuriosityStream's official help center or Terms. The account flow does offer a Pause option separate from Cancel, so make sure you choose Cancel Plan if you want billing to stop rather than pausing.
Things to watch out for
- App-store / third-party billing is the biggest trap: if you subscribed via Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon, CuriosityStream's own website CANNOT cancel it. You must cancel in that store, and CuriosityStream cannot refund charges made through those platforms.
- No refunds. CuriosityStream Terms: cancellation is effective at the end of the current Subscription Period and you will not receive any refund, though you keep access until the period ends.
- Free trials auto-convert to a paid subscription if you do not cancel within the trial window. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
- Canceling stops auto-renewal; it does not end access immediately. You stay subscribed until the paid period you already bought runs out.
- No dedicated cancellation phone line exists. Online self-service (or email help@curiositystream.com) is the official route.
- There is also a Pause option in account settings (1, 2, or 3 months, monthly direct-billed subscribers only), which is different from canceling. If you want to stop being billed for good, choose Cancel Plan, not Pause.
Refunds
No refunds. Per CuriosityStream's Terms of Use, cancellation is effective at the end of the current Subscription Period and you will not receive any refund (unless otherwise stated at time of cancellation); you keep access until the period ends. You can cancel anytime without fee or penalty. App-store-billed subscriptions: any refund request must go to Apple/Google/Amazon/Roku, not CuriosityStream.
