How to cancel Acorn TV

Steps to cancel Acorn TV
- FIRST confirm where you signed up. If you subscribed through Apple/iTunes, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Prime Channel, Samsung, or a cable provider (Comcast/Xfinity, TELLUS), you CANNOT cancel on acorn.tv and must cancel through that platform instead (see billed_via_appstore_note). To check, log in at acorn.tv, go to My Acorn TV > Manage Account, and look in the Account Status section for a third-party note.
- For a DIRECT (acorn.tv) subscription: open a web browser (computer or mobile), go to acorn.tv, and log in to your account.
- Click 'My Acorn TV' in the top-right corner of the website.
- In the dropdown menu, select 'Manage Account'.
- Click 'Cancel Membership' on the left side of the screen.
- Click 'Cancel Acorn TV', then confirm your choice when the pop-up appears.
- You keep access until the end of the current paid billing period. Note that deleting the Acorn TV app does NOT cancel billing.
Things to watch out for
- Deleting the Acorn TV app or channel from your device does NOT cancel your subscription or stop billing.
- App-store/third-party billing is common: if you signed up via Apple/iTunes, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Prime Channel, Samsung, or cable (Comcast/Xfinity, TELLUS), the Cancel Membership option will not appear on acorn.tv and you must cancel through that platform.
- Free trials require a credit/debit card and auto-convert to a paid subscription if you do not cancel before the trial ends. The free trial does not apply to returning Acorn TV subscribers.
- No refunds for any partial billing period, partial subscription period, or unwatched content unless required by law (parent company is AMC Networks). Statutory cancellation/refund rights apply only to users in Austria, the UK (14 days), and Brazil (7 days).
- Cancel before your renewal date; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, but cancelling does not refund the current period.
Refunds
AMC Networks (Acorn TV's parent) does not provide refunds or credits for any partial billing period, partial subscription period, or unwatched content, unless required by law. Statutory cancellation/refund rights apply only to users in Austria and the UK (cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund) and Brazil (within 7 days). After cancelling, you keep access through the end of the current paid term, and the subscription ends on the last day of that term.
Direct US price is $9.99/month (plus applicable taxes) per Acorn TV's US About page; the Help Center cost article lists $8.99/month USD ($89.99/year), and a ~$1 monthly increase took effect in May 2026, so the exact figure varies by source and region. No retention/save offer was documented in the official Help Center cancel flow. Acorn TV does not publish a customer-service phone number for cancellations; support is via the Help Center at support.acorn.tv, so the phone field is left empty. The direct-cancel button labels ('My Acorn TV', 'Manage Account', 'Cancel Membership', 'Cancel Acorn TV') and the 'left side of the screen' placement were confirmed verbatim from the official guides. App-store/Apple/Google paths reflect those platforms' standard subscription cancellation flows.
