How to cancel Surfshark

If you subscribed through an app store: Surfshark is frequently billed through Apple App Store or Google Play (and sometimes Amazon Appstore). This matters a lot: if your subscription was purchased through one of those stores, the 'Cancel auto-renewal' button in your Surfshark web account WILL NOT stop the charges, because the store, not Surfshark, controls that billing. A telltale sign is that the cancel auto-renewal option is not visible in your Surfshark account, which Surfshark says usually means the purchase was made through an app store. To check, look at where you originally subscribed. If app-store billed, cancel there instead: Apple iPhone/iPad - Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Surfshark > Cancel Subscription. Google Play - Play Store app > profile icon > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > Surfshark > Cancel. Amazon Appstore - Amazon account > Your Memberships and Subscriptions. Refunds for app-store purchases must also be requested from Apple, Google, or Amazon (not from Surfshark); for Google Play, self-service refunds are generally only within about 48 hours of purchase. Steps to cancel Surfshark

  1. FIRST, figure out HOW you pay. If you bought Surfshark through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore, you CANNOT cancel from the Surfshark website. You must cancel in that store instead (see the app-store note). If you bought directly on surfshark.com, follow the web steps below.
  2. WEB (bought on surfshark.com): Go to https://my.surfshark.com and log in to your Surfshark account.

  7. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, and no further charges are made. Canceling auto-renewal does NOT trigger a refund by itself.
  8. ALTERNATIVE / if you cannot find the option: open the Surfshark Help Center (https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us), use 'Chat with us' to reach 24/7 live chat, and ask them to cancel. You may be given a unique cancellation link. There is no phone support.
  9. TO ALSO GET A REFUND (only if within 30 days of your FIRST purchase, bought via website/Paddle/Cleverbridge/Google Play): canceling auto-renewal is not enough. You must separately contact live chat and explicitly request a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee.
Watch for the save offer. Surfshark's official support pages do not document a formal retention/save offer or hoops to cancel online; the web cancel flow is self-service.
