Steps to cancel NordVPN
- FIRST, figure out where you were billed. If you bought NordVPN directly from nordvpn.com (paid by card, PayPal, crypto, etc.), use the Nord Account steps below. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore, you CANNOT cancel from your Nord Account; you must cancel in that app store instead (see the app-store note).
- DIRECT PURCHASE - Step 1: Go to my.nordaccount.com and log in with your Nord Account email and password.
- Step 2: Open the Billing tab (left-side menu).
- Step 3: Find your NordVPN subscription, locate the line that says 'Auto-renewal: ON', and click 'Cancel' next to it.
- Step 4: Confirm by selecting 'Cancel auto-renewal'. (If a retention/discount offer appears, decline it to continue; canceling auto-renewal does not require accepting any offer.)
- Step 5: Verify your auto-renewal status now shows 'Off'. This stops all future charges.
- Step 6: Check your registered email for the cancellation confirmation message. Keep it as proof. Note: your VPN access stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- REFUND (separate action) - Canceling auto-renewal does NOT trigger a refund. If you are within 30 days of your INITIAL purchase and want your money back, go to support.nordvpn.com and use the 'Chat with support' option (live chat, 24/7) to request a refund. Things to watch out for
- Two separate actions: canceling auto-renewal only stops future charges; it does NOT automatically refund you. You must contact support to get a refund.
- The 30-day money-back guarantee applies ONLY to your INITIAL subscription purchase. Once the plan auto-renews, that renewal is no longer refundable under this policy (unless local law says otherwise), so cancel auto-renewal well before your renewal date.
