How to cancel Norton 360

Steps to cancel Norton 360
- Determine HOW you were billed first. If you bought Norton 360 through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store, you CANNOT cancel at Norton.com and must cancel in that store instead (see billed_via_appstore_note). If you bought directly from Norton (Norton online store, retail card, or it auto-renews on a card/PayPal Norton charged), continue with the steps below.
- Go to https://my.norton.com and sign in with the Norton account email and password used for the subscription.
- On the My Account page, open the 'My Subscriptions' tab and find the Norton 360 subscription you want to stop.
- Click 'Cancel Subscription Renewal' (or 'Manage Renewal').
- Next to 'Plan Renewal', click 'Unsubscribe'.
- Select a reason for cancelling when prompted, then click Next.
- Norton will show retention / save offers. To push past them, decline the offer and click 'No thanks, cancel my subscription', then click Next.
- Confirm. A cancellation confirmation appears on screen. The change typically takes a few hours; allow up to 24 hours for it to show in your account, and allow 24 to 48 hours for the confirmation email sent to your Norton account email.
- Result: auto-renewal is now OFF. Your Norton 360 protection keeps working until the end of the term you already paid for, then stops. Turning off renewal does NOT by itself refund you. If you also want money back, request a refund separately (see refund_note).
- Optional after a refund: uninstall and delete all copies of Norton from your devices, which Norton requires once a refund is granted.
Things to watch out for
- Cancelling auto-renewal is NOT the same as a refund. Stopping renewal just prevents future charges; you keep service until the paid term ends. To get money back you must separately request a refund (see refund_note).
- Free trial trap: if you signed up for a free trial, the paid subscription is charged automatically at the end of the trial. Cancel BEFORE the trial ends, or you will be billed and then have to cancel the active paid subscription.
- Norton can charge the renewal in advance of your expiry date. Customers and Norton's renewal article describe the card being charged up to about 35 days (roughly 5 weeks) before the term renews; Norton sends an advance email with the renewal price and billing date for annual plans. Cancel well ahead of the renewal date, not just before the expiry date.
- Uninstalling the Norton app does NOT cancel the subscription or stop billing. You must cancel through your Norton account (or the relevant app store).
- If your order number begins with 'SY' (Japan store), you cannot use the standard flow and must use Norton's Japan store cancellation page with your original order number and the email used at purchase.
- If Norton is bundled and billed through your internet provider, mobile carrier, retailer, or another partner, Norton cannot cancel or refund it and bundled offerings are excluded from Norton's refund policy. Contact that billing company directly.
- After a refund is approved, Norton requires you to uninstall and delete all copies of the software from your devices.
Refunds
Norton offers a money-back guarantee separate from cancelling. Annual subscriptions: full refund if requested within 60 days of purchase, and each annual renewal is also fully refundable within 60 days of being charged. Monthly subscriptions: full refund within 14 days of the initial purchase only; later monthly renewals are not refundable. Free-trial-to-paid conversions are refundable within these same windows (60 days annual, 14 days monthly). To request a refund, contact Norton Member Services and Support via the support portal (https://support.norton.com) and have your order number and product serial number or product key ready; refunds go back to the original payment method. In Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and Quebec, pro-rated refunds of the remaining renewed term are available after the standard guarantee period. Store-billed (Apple, Google, Microsoft) and partner/ISP/bundled subscriptions must be refunded through that store or biller, not Norton.
Norton 360 cancellation is fully self-service online and does not require a phone call or in-person visit. The 'phone' field is intentionally left empty: Norton's contact page renders its support number dynamically and does not publish a static, verifiable Norton 360 product-support phone number, and the numbers returned by third-party aggregators are inconsistent and unverified, so no number could be confirmed from an authoritative static source. (Note: lifelock.norton.com/about/contact lists LifeLock identity-protection lines, e.g. Member Services 1-800-416-0599 and a corporate/general line 1-800-543-3562, but those are LifeLock lines, not confirmed Norton 360 antivirus support numbers, so they are not used here.) For the correct current number, use the live chat or 'Call us' option at https://support.norton.com after signing in. Cancelling auto-renewal stops future charges but does not delete your Norton account or refund you; request a refund separately if within the guarantee window.
