How to cancel Squarespace

Steps to cancel Squarespace
- Decide first how you were billed. If you subscribed to a Squarespace plan through the iOS app (a Mobile Start plan or any in-app purchase), you must cancel or get a refund through Apple, not Squarespace. Everyone else cancels on the web using the steps below.
- Log in to your Squarespace account on a computer at squarespace.com and open the Billing panel (account.squarespace.com/settings/billing). If you manage more than one site, pick the correct site first.
- Under Subscriptions, click the subscription or plan you want to end. The button to end it is labeled Website or Store depending on your plan type.
- Click Cancel subscription (it appears as Website or Store depending on your plan).
- Review the cancellation details. You will see Retain Access (keep the site until the end of your current billing cycle) and, if you are still eligible for a refund, Get Refund Immediately (refund now and lose access right away). Choose one, then click Continue.
- Select your reason for canceling from the drop-down menu, then click Next.
- Complete the optional feedback form, or click Next to skip it.
- Review the Your other subscriptions panel if it appears. It lists add-ons attached to the site (for example a domain, Google Workspace, or Acuity Scheduling). These are NOT canceled by this action and must be canceled separately. Click Continue.
- Click Cancel subscription one final time to confirm. The subscription stays active until the end of the current billing cycle, then deactivates. To cancel a free trial instead, open the Billing panel, under Trial subscriptions click Website, click Cancel trial, choose a reason or skip it, then click Cancel trial to confirm.
Things to watch out for
- Squarespace subscriptions are independent and all auto-renew. Canceling your website or store plan does NOT cancel your domain, Google Workspace, Acuity Scheduling, or Email Campaigns subscriptions. Cancel each one separately in the Billing panel or you will keep getting billed.
- If you bought your plan through the Squarespace iOS app (a Mobile Start plan or other in-app purchase), the web Billing panel will not cancel it. You must manage it through your Apple ID in the App Store, and Squarespace cannot issue a refund for an Apple-billed plan.
- Monthly plans are never refundable. Canceling just stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the cycle you already paid for.
- Annual plans only get a full refund if canceled within 14 days of the original purchase. After day 14 there is no refund and you keep service until the annual term ends.
- If your annual plan included a free domain and you cancel within the 14-day window, you forfeit the free-domain offer and the nonrefundable domain registration fee is deducted from your prorated refund.
- No refunds are issued on renewal payments. Cancel BEFORE the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next term. Squarespace emails a renewal reminder about 15 days before an annual plan renews.
- A free website trial lasts 14 days and expires automatically. Canceling or deleting the trial is separate from canceling a paid plan.
- There is no phone support. Squarespace publicly states it does not offer a customer support phone number. Anyone selling a Squarespace cancellation phone number is not legitimate; support is email (24/7) and live chat (weekdays) only.
- Refunds take 3 to 10 business days to appear on your card statement after they are issued.
- Email Campaigns plans and Getty Images purchases are non-refundable. Digital Products plans have their own separate cancellation flow and refund policy.
Refunds
Annual website plans: full refund only if canceled within 14 days of the original purchase. If the plan included a free domain and you cancel in that window, you forfeit the free-domain offer and the nonrefundable domain registration fee is deducted from your prorated refund. Monthly plans: never refundable. Renewals: never refundable, so cancel before the renewal date (Squarespace sends an annual renewal reminder about 15 days ahead). Refunds take 3 to 10 business days to post after they are approved. Email Campaigns and Getty Images are non-refundable; Digital Products has its own policy. Plans bought through the iOS app are refunded by Apple, not Squarespace. Where eligible, use the in-flow Get Refund Immediately option or the refund request form linked from the refund-policy articles.
Web cancellation is 100% self-service through the Billing panel on a computer; no phone call or in-person visit is required. Squarespace offers no phone support (channels are 24/7 email and live chat, Mon-Fri 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET for English), but neither is needed to cancel. Important exception verified during this audit: plans bought through the Squarespace iOS app (Mobile Start / in-app purchases) are billed by Apple and must be canceled or refunded through Apple, not Squarespace. Steps were taken from the official Squarespace Help Center cancellation article and cross-verified against the website-refund-policy, trial-cancellation, contact-support, no-phone-support, free-domain-offer, and Mobile Start articles.
