If you subscribed through an app store: Notion is normally billed directly by Notion (debit/credit card, Apple Pay, SEPA direct debit, or Stripe Link) and you cancel on web/desktop via Settings then Billing then Change plan. BUT if you originally subscribed through the Apple App Store on iPhone/iPad, Apple is the biller and Notion cannot cancel or refund it; cancel via iPhone Settings then your name then Subscriptions then Notion then Cancel Subscription, and request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. Subscriptions bought through Google Play are managed at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Notion's help center explicitly says App Store purchases must be handled with Apple directly.

Steps to cancel Notion

  1. Open Notion on a desktop computer or in a web browser at notion.so and log in (you cannot cancel from the iOS/Android mobile app).
  2. Click Settings in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. In the settings pop-up window, click Billing in its sidebar.
  4. Click Change plan.
  5. Select the Free plan and click Continue. If prompted, optionally answer the feedback question about why you're leaving.
  6. Click Downgrade to confirm. You will see when your current plan ends. Your paid features stay active until the end of the current billing cycle, then the workspace drops to the Free plan.
Watch for the save offer. Notion's official help pages document no discount, pause, or retention save offer in the cancel flow. You may see an optional one-question feedback prompt about why you're leaving, but no save offer is documented.

Things to watch out for

Refunds

Refunds are not automatic. Eligibility: contact Notion within 3 days of the invoice date for monthly billing, or within 30 days for annual billing, via in-app chat or email. App Store purchases must be refunded through Apple; online/Google Pay purchases are refunded by Notion. Unused Notion AI credits are refundable; once any portion is used they are not.

No official standalone deep-link cancel URL exists. Notion's Billing screen is an in-app Settings pop-up reached at Settings then Billing then Change plan on web (notion.so) or the desktop app, not a separate web page, so cancel_url is left empty rather than fabricated. There is no cancellation phone number; support is in-app chat or by email only. can_cancel_in_app is false because the Notion mobile app cannot cancel; App-Store-billed iOS subscriptions are cancelled in the device's system Settings, not inside the Notion app.
