How to cancel Talkspace

Steps to cancel Talkspace
- FIRST determine who bills you. If you have a regular Talkspace therapy plan billed directly by Talkspace, use the web or iOS steps below. If you have the separate 'Talkspace Go' self-guided app and subscribed through Apple or Google, you must cancel in the app store (see billed_via_appstore_note) because Talkspace cannot cancel app-store subscriptions for you.
- WEB (direct-billed plans): Log into your account at www.talkspace.com.
- Click 'Account' in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Click 'Payment and plan'.
- If your plan is paused, unpause it first, then continue.
- Locate the subscription you want to cancel and click 'Stop subscription renewal'.
- Follow the prompts and click 'Cancel subscription renewal' to confirm.
- IOS APP (direct-billed plans): Open the Talkspace app and tap the gear/settings icon in the top-right corner (if you are in the chatroom, tap the green arrow at top-left to return to Rooms first).
- Tap 'Payment and plan', then tap 'Stop subscription renewal'.
- In the dialog box, tap 'Cancel subscription renewal' to confirm.
- Verify: after confirming you keep access for the time already paid for and will not be billed again unless you re-enroll. To reverse, return to 'Payment and plan' and click 'Undo cancellation'.
Things to watch out for
- Cancelling stops auto-renewal only; there is no automatic pro-rated refund. You keep access until the current paid period expires.
- If your plan is paused, you must unpause it before you can cancel.
- Talkspace Go free or discounted trial: cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends or you will be charged, because the subscription renews within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Talkspace cannot cancel an Apple- or Google-billed Talkspace Go subscription on your behalf; you must do it yourself in the app store. Asking Talkspace support will not stop app-store billing.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an app-store-billed Talkspace Go subscription.
- Out-of-pocket users can 'pause' the plan (up to 7 days at a time) instead of cancelling if they only need a temporary break.
- Refunds are reviewed case-by-case and are not guaranteed, even within the 90-day window; Talkspace states it does not refund services already rendered.
Refunds
Talkspace generally does not refund services already rendered, including subscription costs. However, the Support team can review a refund request received within 90 days of the charge's posting date to your bank or card statement; such refunds are discretionary and not guaranteed (full, partial, or prorated). If approved, refunds are usually issued within 3 to 5 business days to the original payment method. Cancelling before your renewal date does NOT trigger a pro-rated refund; you keep access until the paid period expires. For Talkspace Go purchases billed by Apple or Google, refund requests go through Apple Support or Google Play, not Talkspace.
No phone call or in-person visit is required to cancel; the process is fully self-service online or in-app. The single cancel_url is the Talkspace login at www.talkspace.com (then Account > Payment and plan); deeper help articles are in source_urls. The critical first step is identifying your biller: direct Talkspace plan vs app-store-billed Talkspace Go. Phone field left empty because Talkspace does not publish a dedicated cancellation phone line; support is via the Help Center at help.talkspace.com and email (e.g. support@talkspace.com). phone_hours left empty for the same reason.
