How to cancel Headspace

If you subscribed through an app store: App-store billing is the single most important thing to check first. Headspace is a mobile-first app, so many users subscribed inside the iOS or Android app, which means Apple or Google is the biller, not Headspace. In that case you MUST cancel in the app store, and the Headspace website/app cannot do it for you. iOS/Apple: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Headspace > Cancel Subscription (or App Store > profile > your name > Subscriptions). Android/Google Play: Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Headspace > Cancel subscription. Refunds for app-store purchases are also handled by Apple or Google, not Headspace. Only if you subscribed directly at headspace.com do you cancel at headspace.com/subscription/manage. A reliable tell: if headspace.com/subscription/manage shows no CANCEL MEMBERSHIP button, your billing is going through Apple or Google and you should cancel there. The Spotify bundle is a separate case: manage it in your Spotify account.

Steps to cancel Headspace

  1. FIRST, identify where you were billed, because that determines where you cancel. Check your receipts/email: if you signed up at headspace.com you cancel on the web; if you subscribed inside the iPhone/iPad app you cancel through Apple; if inside the Android app you cancel through Google Play. Headspace cannot cancel an Apple or Google subscription for you.
  2. IF YOU SUBSCRIBED DIRECTLY THROUGH HEADSPACE.COM (web): Open a desktop or mobile web browser (not the app) and log in to your Headspace account.
  3. Go to https://www.headspace.com/subscription/manage
  4. Click or tap the 'CANCEL MEMBERSHIP' link and follow the prompts to confirm.
  5. If the 'CANCEL MEMBERSHIP' button is not shown (this usually means you were actually billed through Apple or Google, not Headspace), email help@headspace.com for assistance.
  6. IF YOU SUBSCRIBED THROUGH THE APPLE APP STORE (iPhone/iPad): Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.
  7. Tap 'Subscriptions', select 'Headspace', then tap 'Cancel Subscription' and confirm. (Alternatively: open the App Store, tap your profile icon, tap your name, tap 'Subscriptions', select Headspace, then 'Cancel Subscription'.)
  8. IF YOU SUBSCRIBED THROUGH GOOGLE PLAY (Android): Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then 'Payments & subscriptions' > 'Subscriptions'.
  9. Select 'Headspace', tap 'Cancel subscription', and follow the prompts to confirm.
  10. FOR A COACHING/CARE SUBSCRIPTION: On desktop, go to your Profile > Subscription Details and follow the cancellation steps. In the app, tap the Profile tab > Settings gear > 'Account & Subscription', open Subscription Details, tap 'Edit' and follow the prompts.
  11. AFTER CANCELLING: confirm you receive a cancellation confirmation. Access typically continues until the end of the current paid billing period; cancelling stops the next auto-renewal rather than ending access immediately.

Refunds

Headspace offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on the INITIAL purchase of a membership bought directly through headspace.com: to qualify you must request cancellation within 30 days of the initial purchase, then email help@headspace.com to request the refund. Outside that window, direct Headspace.com subscriptions are generally non-refundable and Headspace does not prorate (annual plans are not refunded for unused months, monthly is not refunded mid-cycle). Free trials are not charged at all if you cancel before the trial ends. For purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are NOT handled by Headspace; request them from Apple or Google directly.

Headspace cancellation is self-service and does not require a phone call or in-person visit. Headspace's own official Contact Us page lists no support phone number and directs members to the help center; Member Support is email/web-form based (help@headspace.com), 7 days a week with replies typically within a day. The phone field is intentionally left empty: third-party sites list an 855-432-3822 number, but it is NOT published or confirmed on Headspace's own domain. No documented retention/save-offer wall is presented during cancellation, so save_offer_warning is empty. The Spotify+Headspace bundle is a legacy product (partnership deprecated in 2021-2022) but its cancellation path via Spotify is still documented by Headspace.
