How to cancel Calm

Steps to cancel Calm
- FIRST, figure out where you are billed. How you cancel depends entirely on where you bought the subscription: directly on Calm.com, through the Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad), or through Google Play (Android). If you originally subscribed inside the Calm app on an iPhone or Android, you are almost certainly billed by Apple or Google and MUST cancel there (see the app-store note). If you signed up on the Calm website, cancel on the website. Check your purchase-confirmation email or payment history: if it lists Apple or Google, use that platform's steps below.
- IF BILLED DIRECTLY BY CALM (web): Open a web browser and log in to your Calm account at https://www.calm.com/profile.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.
- Open Manage Subscription.
- Click the cancel option (labeled Cancel Plan or Cancel Subscription) and follow the prompts. You may be shown a retention message or a discount offer to stay; if you want to cancel, keep following the cancel prompts and decline the offer until you reach the final confirmation screen.
- Confirm the cancellation. Once canceled, the subscription will not renew at the end of the current billing cycle, but you keep Calm Premium access until that date.
- ALTERNATIVELY, IN THE CALM APP (per Calm's help center, this works only if Calm bills you directly, not Apple/Google): Open the Calm app, tap Profile (bottom right), tap the gear/Settings icon (top-left), tap Manage Subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
- IF BILLED THROUGH APPLE (iPhone/iPad): Open the iPhone or iPad Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Calm, then tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial). You can also do this on the web by signing in at account.apple.com and opening Subscriptions.
- IF BILLED THROUGH GOOGLE PLAY (Android): Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon (top right), tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, select Calm, then tap Cancel subscription at the bottom of the screen. You can also do this on the web at https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- VERIFY: After canceling, check that the subscription shows as canceled/expiring (not renewing). Deleting or uninstalling the Calm app does NOT cancel the subscription.
Things to watch out for
- Cancel at least 24 hours BEFORE a free trial ends to avoid being charged for the first paid cycle. If you do not cancel, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription.
- Uninstalling or deleting the Calm app does NOT cancel the subscription. You must cancel through the correct billing channel.
- If you subscribed via the Calm mobile app on iPhone or Android, you are billed by Apple or Google, not Calm. Calm cannot cancel it for you. You must cancel in the App Store / Google Play.
- During the web cancellation flow Calm may present a discount or retention offer to keep you. Decline it and keep following the cancel prompts to reach the final confirmation screen.
- Canceling does not automatically issue a refund. You keep Premium access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds are available only for Calm.com and Google Play purchases, and only within 30 days. For Apple App Store purchases, Calm cannot refund you; you must request a refund from Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Calm Premium Family Plan subscriptions can only be canceled by the Family Plan admin through the Calm website, not inside the Calm app.
Refunds
Canceling does not auto-generate a refund; you retain Premium access through the end of the already-paid period. Refunds are available only for purchases made directly on Calm.com and through Google Play, and only within 30 days of the charge. For Apple App Store purchases, Calm cannot issue a refund; request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Verified against Calm's official Help Center (support.calm.com), Apple Support, Google Play, and corroborating third-party guides. The Calm support article pages return HTTP 403 to automated fetches (standard bot-blocking, not dead pages), so details were confirmed from the indexed content of those same official pages plus Apple's official cancellation/refund guides and consistent secondary sources. cancel_url calm.com/profile is the canonical URL cited by Calm's own help center. No official Calm customer-service phone line exists for cancellations; support is via Help Center, in-app help widget, and email (support@calm.com). One nuance: Calm sources are slightly inconsistent on in-app cancellation for web-billed accounts (one page says settings are website-only, while article 360003084793 explicitly describes an in-app cancel path for web subscribers); the in-app step is kept because Calm's own article supports it, with the strong app-store caveat retained.
