How to cancel Tinder

Steps to cancel Tinder
- FIRST, identify who bills you. This determines where you cancel, and it is the single most important step. Check your email receipts or your Tinder order number: an Apple receipt (or an order number starting with MK) means Apple App Store billing, a Google receipt (or an order number starting with GPA) means Google Play billing, and a receipt direct from Tinder/Match Group (credit/debit card, PayPal) means you paid Tinder directly. Tinder CANNOT cancel an Apple- or Google-billed subscription for you.
- IF BILLED BY APPLE (iPhone/iPad): Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Tinder (or Tinder Gold/Plus/Platinum), then tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. If there is no Cancel button or you see a red expiration date, it is already cancelled.
- IF BILLED BY APPLE (alternate web route): Go to https://account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions, sign in with your Apple ID, select the Tinder subscription, and click Cancel Subscription.
- IF BILLED BY GOOGLE (Android): Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture (top right), tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, select Tinder, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts. You can also do this at https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions on the web.
- IF YOU PAID TINDER DIRECTLY (credit/debit card or PayPal, e.g. a purchase on tinder.com): Log in at https://tinder.com, click your profile icon, go to Manage Payment Account (or Subscriptions/Settings), find your subscription, then click Cancel Subscription and confirm. You can also do this in the Tinder app under your profile settings.
- Watch for the retention/save offer. When you tap Cancel, Tinder (or the app store flow) may show a discount, a pause option, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier instead of cancelling. To fully stop billing, decline these and keep tapping through until you reach a final confirmation. Do not stop at a 'pause' or 'downgrade' screen if your goal is to cancel.
- Confirm it is actually cancelled. After cancelling you should see a confirmation and an end date for your paid access. On Apple, the Subscriptions screen will show the subscription as expiring on a date with no renewal. On Google Play it will show as cancelled with an end date. Keep this confirmation.
- Do NOT delete the Tinder app or your Tinder account as a way to cancel. Deleting the app or the account does NOT stop billing. Cancel the subscription first, verify it, then delete the account later if you want.
Things to watch out for
- You keep paid access until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling does NOT end access immediately and does NOT trigger a refund for the unused days.
- Tinder does not prorate or retroactively refund. There are no refunds for partially used periods.
- Deleting the Tinder app or deleting your Tinder account does NOT cancel the subscription. You must cancel through the correct billing channel first.
- Most subscriptions are billed through Apple or Google. In that case Tinder cannot cancel for you and contacting Tinder will not stop the charge. You must cancel in Settings (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- If you switched devices (e.g. iPhone to Android), you must cancel on the ORIGINAL device/platform where you bought it. Subscriptions do not transfer between Apple and Google.
- Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next charge. Tinder recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal/trial end or you may still be billed.
- Tinder has no official customer-service phone number. Phone numbers claiming to be Tinder 'cancellation' or billing support that appear in search results and third-party sites (for example 1-917-947-0119 or 1-310-759-9590) are NOT official and may be scams. Do not call them or give them payment details.
- Refunds are handled by whoever billed you: request Apple refunds via Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), Google refunds via Google Play, and direct Tinder purchases via Tinder's support form. Tinder generally only assists with refunds for credit/debit card or PayPal purchases and only within 14 days of the transaction.
Refunds
Cancelling is free but does not auto-refund. There is no proration, and previously charged fees are not refunded for the unused remainder of the period. Refunds go through whoever billed you: Apple App Store purchases via Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), Google Play purchases via Google Play, each under their own refund policies. For purchases made directly through Tinder (credit/debit card or PayPal), submit a request via Tinder's support form (https://www.help.tinder.com/hc/en-us/requests/new); Tinder generally only considers direct refunds within 14 days of the transaction, and EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland residents have a 14-day right to a full refund after a subscription begins.
Tinder has no official phone or live-chat support; contact is via the Help Center form (https://www.help.tinder.com/hc/en-us/requests/new), in-app Settings > Help and Support, or social media. Several third-party sites and search results list 'Tinder cancellation' phone numbers (e.g. 1-917-947-0119, 1-310-759-9590); these are NOT official Tinder numbers and should be treated as untrustworthy/scams.
