If you subscribed through an app store: This matters a lot for Tinder. Tinder is a mobile-first app and most subscriptions (Tinder Plus, Gold, Platinum) are billed through the Apple App Store (if bought on an iPhone/iPad) or Google Play (if bought on an Android device). When that is the case you MUST cancel inside that app store, not inside Tinder: Tinder's own Help Center states that purchases made through Apple or Google must be cancelled (and refunds requested) through them, and Tinder cannot do it for you. Identify your biller from your email receipt or order number: an Apple receipt or an order number starting with MK = cancel in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions; a Google receipt or an order number starting with GPA = cancel in Google Play > profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Only if you bought directly from Tinder with a credit/debit card or PayPal do you cancel inside Tinder (profile > Manage Payment Account > Cancel Subscription) or at tinder.com.

Steps to cancel Tinder

  1. FIRST, identify who bills you. This determines where you cancel, and it is the single most important step. Check your email receipts or your Tinder order number: an Apple receipt (or an order number starting with MK) means Apple App Store billing, a Google receipt (or an order number starting with GPA) means Google Play billing, and a receipt direct from Tinder/Match Group (credit/debit card, PayPal) means you paid Tinder directly. Tinder CANNOT cancel an Apple- or Google-billed subscription for you.
  2. IF BILLED BY APPLE (iPhone/iPad): Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Tinder (or Tinder Gold/Plus/Platinum), then tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. If there is no Cancel button or you see a red expiration date, it is already cancelled.
  3. IF BILLED BY APPLE (alternate web route): Go to https://account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions, sign in with your Apple ID, select the Tinder subscription, and click Cancel Subscription.
  4. IF BILLED BY GOOGLE (Android): Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture (top right), tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, select Tinder, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts. You can also do this at https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions on the web.
  5. IF YOU PAID TINDER DIRECTLY (credit/debit card or PayPal, e.g. a purchase on tinder.com): Log in at https://tinder.com, click your profile icon, go to Manage Payment Account (or Subscriptions/Settings), find your subscription, then click Cancel Subscription and confirm. You can also do this in the Tinder app under your profile settings.
  6. Watch for the retention/save offer. When you tap Cancel, Tinder (or the app store flow) may show a discount, a pause option, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier instead of cancelling. To fully stop billing, decline these and keep tapping through until you reach a final confirmation. Do not stop at a 'pause' or 'downgrade' screen if your goal is to cancel.
  7. Confirm it is actually cancelled. After cancelling you should see a confirmation and an end date for your paid access. On Apple, the Subscriptions screen will show the subscription as expiring on a date with no renewal. On Google Play it will show as cancelled with an end date. Keep this confirmation.
  8. Do NOT delete the Tinder app or your Tinder account as a way to cancel. Deleting the app or the account does NOT stop billing. Cancel the subscription first, verify it, then delete the account later if you want.
Watch for the save offer. During the cancel flow Tinder may offer a discount, a subscription pause, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier (e.g. Gold to Plus) instead of letting you cancel outright. To actually stop billing, decline these offers and continue to the final Cancel confirmation. A 'pause' or 'downgrade' is not a cancellation.

Things to watch out for

Refunds

Cancelling is free but does not auto-refund. There is no proration, and previously charged fees are not refunded for the unused remainder of the period. Refunds go through whoever billed you: Apple App Store purchases via Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), Google Play purchases via Google Play, each under their own refund policies. For purchases made directly through Tinder (credit/debit card or PayPal), submit a request via Tinder's support form (https://www.help.tinder.com/hc/en-us/requests/new); Tinder generally only considers direct refunds within 14 days of the transaction, and EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland residents have a 14-day right to a full refund after a subscription begins.

Tinder has no official phone or live-chat support; contact is via the Help Center form (https://www.help.tinder.com/hc/en-us/requests/new), in-app Settings > Help and Support, or social media. Several third-party sites and search results list 'Tinder cancellation' phone numbers (e.g. 1-917-947-0119, 1-310-759-9590); these are NOT official Tinder numbers and should be treated as untrustworthy/scams. Steps verified June 2026 against search-indexed Tinder Help Center content plus Apple's and Google's official support pages (support.apple.com/en-us/118428, support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481).
