How to cancel Hinge

Steps to cancel Hinge
- FIRST, identify HOW you originally paid. Hinge subscriptions (Hinge+ / HingeX) are billed through one of three channels: the Apple App Store (if you subscribed on an iPhone/iPad), Google Play (if you subscribed on Android), or Hinge Payment powered by Stripe (Hinge's direct billing, currently US-only). You MUST cancel through the same channel that bills you. Uninstalling the Hinge app or deleting your Hinge account does NOT stop billing.
- If billed by Apple (iOS): Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap your name at the top. Tap 'Subscriptions'. Tap your Hinge subscription. Tap 'Cancel Subscription' (scroll down if you don't see it). Confirm. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration date in red, it is already cancelled.
- If billed by Apple on a Mac: Open the App Store app, click your name in the bottom-left, click 'Account Settings', then in the Manage section click 'Manage' next to Subscriptions, click 'Edit' next to Hinge, then 'Cancel Subscription' and confirm.
- If billed by Google Play (Android): On your Android device open the Google Play Store, go to Subscriptions (or visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions on a computer), select your Hinge subscription, tap 'Cancel subscription', and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure you are signed in to the Google Account that has the subscription.
- If billed directly by Hinge Payment (Stripe): Open the Hinge app, tap the gear/settings icon to open Account Settings, then tap 'Cancel Subscription' (or 'Manage Subscription') and follow the prompts. If you can't log in or no longer have the app, use the Stripe cancellation link Hinge provides on its 'Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription' help page, signing in with the email address where you receive Hinge subscription/billing emails.
- Cancel at least 24 hours BEFORE your renewal date. This buffer is required by Apple, Google, and Hinge Payment and cannot be waived.
- If a retention/save offer appears during cancellation (e.g. a discounted price or extended trial), decline it and continue tapping through each confirmation screen until you reach the final confirmation. The cancellation is not complete until you see confirmation.
- Verify the cancellation: on Apple the subscription will show an expiration date in red; on Google Play it will show as cancelled with the paid-through date; with Hinge Payment/Stripe you should receive a cancellation confirmation. Your Hinge+/HingeX benefits remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.
Things to watch out for
- The #1 mistake: deleting the Hinge app or deleting your Hinge account does NOT cancel your subscription or stop charges. You must cancel through the billing channel (Apple, Google, or Stripe).
- You must cancel where you originally paid. If you subscribed on an iPhone, Hinge itself cannot cancel it for you, you have to do it in Apple's Settings; same for Google Play on Android.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date or you will be charged for the next cycle. This is enforced by Apple, Google, and Hinge and cannot be changed.
- Cancelling does not give an immediate refund of the current period. You keep Hinge+/HingeX until the end of the billing cycle you already paid for.
- Free trial trap: Hinge offers a 14-day Hinge Plus free trial in some regions (EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland). If you do not cancel before the trial ends you are auto-charged for the next month. Cancel during the trial to avoid the charge (you keep access until the trial period ends).
- Hinge may show a retention offer (discount or extended trial) mid-cancellation. You must actively decline it and finish every confirmation step, otherwise the cancellation does not go through.
- Use the correct account/email. For Stripe cancellation use the email that receives your Hinge billing emails (it may differ from your Hinge login). For Google Play, sign in to the Google Account that holds the subscription.
- Refunds are not handled by Hinge for app-store purchases. iOS refunds go through Apple; Android refunds go through Google. Both have discretion and often deny refunds for time already elapsed.
- Three-business-day cooling-off right: Hinge's Terms give residents of AZ, CA, CO, CT, IL, IA, MN, NY, NC, OH, RI and WI the right to cancel for a full refund before midnight of the third business day after subscribing. Outside that window (and outside the EU/UK trial-refund window) most charges are non-refundable.
- Hinge has no published customer-service phone line for cancellations. Anyone giving you a 'Hinge cancellation phone number' is almost certainly a third-party site, not Hinge. Cancel via the app store, the app, or the Stripe link instead.
Refunds
Refunds are NOT issued by Hinge for app-store purchases. iOS/Apple: Hinge cannot refund; request from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com (sign in > 'I'd like to' > 'Request a refund' > pick reason > select the Hinge item > Submit). Google Play/Android: Google handles refunds per Google Play's refund policy; request through Google Play support. Hinge Payment (Stripe, direct): per Hinge's Terms, cancellation/refund requests must be submitted in writing, mailed or delivered as a signed, dated notice stating you are cancelling, including the email or phone number linked to your Hinge account and your order number, to: Hinge, Attn: Cancellations, P.O. Box 25472, Dallas, Texas 75225, USA. California and Ohio residents may ALSO (in addition to the mailing option) email hello@hinge.co or fax (972) 892-9570. Separately, Hinge's Terms grant residents of AZ, CA, CO, CT, IL, IA, MN, NY, NC, OH, RI and WI the right to cancel without penalty before midnight of the third business day after subscribing for a full refund. In all cases, cancelling stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current already-paid period; you keep access until the end of the billing cycle.
Verified June 2026 against Hinge's official help center (help.hinge.co), Hinge's Terms (hinge.co/terms), Apple Support, and Google Play Help. Hinge has NO published customer-service phone line for cancellations; support is via the help center/live chat and, for direct/Stripe billing, the written-notice mailing address (with CA/Ohio email+fax as an additional option). No phone call or in-person visit is required to cancel; everything is done online or in-app. Hinge Payment (Stripe direct billing) is currently US-only, so most non-US users will be on Apple or Google billing. Hinge+/HingeX benefits continue until the end of the current paid cycle after cancelling. The 'Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription' help article (cancel_url) returned HTTP 403 to automated fetch (typical Zendesk bot block) but its existence, exact URL, title and content were confirmed via search-engine indexing and corroborated by the Terms and Subscribing help articles.
