Go to the Spotify Premium cancellation page →
If you subscribed through an app store: If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, you must cancel via Apple: on iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Spotify, then Cancel Subscription; on Mac open the App Store, click your name, click Account Settings, click Subscriptions, then Cancel for Spotify. If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel in Google Play: on an Android device go to Subscriptions in Google Play, select Spotify, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the steps (on a computer, go to play.google.com, click your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, find Spotify, click Manage, then Cancel subscription). Subscriptions bought through Roku, Amazon, PayPal, or a mobile or internet provider partner must be cancelled with that provider. Cancelling inside Spotify or on spotify.com will NOT stop these third-party charges, and Spotify cannot refund them.

Steps to cancel Spotify Premium

  1. Confirm HOW you pay first. If you subscribed through Apple (App Store), Google Play, Roku, Amazon, PayPal, or a mobile or internet provider partner, you must cancel where you pay, not on Spotify (see the app-store note and gotchas). The steps below are for subscriptions billed directly by Spotify.
  2. Go to spotify.com and log in to the account that holds the Premium plan (Log in, top right).
  3. Open your account page and go to Manage your plan, or go directly to https://www.spotify.com/account/subscription/manage/ (logged-out users are sent to the Spotify login page first, then back to this page).
  4. On the Manage your plan page, select Cancel subscription.
  5. Spotify may show a retention screen offering to pause your plan, switch to a cheaper plan, or stay on Premium. Decline any offer and keep clicking through Cancel or Continue to cancel until you reach the final confirmation.
  6. Complete the final confirmation step. You are only cancelled once you see the confirmation and your account page shows the date your plan will switch to Spotify Free.
  7. Verify: return to the account page and confirm it displays the switch-to-Free date. That date confirms no further charges. Your Premium access continues until then, and you keep your playlists and saved music after the account moves to Free.
Watch for the save offer. On the Manage your plan and cancel flow, Spotify may show retention prompts (for example, pause your subscription, switch to a cheaper plan, or a keep-Premium offer) before the final cancel. These are optional. Decline them and continue clicking Cancel or Continue to cancel until you reach the final confirmation and a switch-to-Free date appears. There is no phone gauntlet; the whole flow is self-serve in the browser.

Things to watch out for

Refunds

For subscriptions billed directly by Spotify, Spotify does not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods (per its Terms). When you cancel, you simply keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop to Free. A statutory 14-day right of withdrawal exists for users in some regions (EU/UK), but Spotify's terms have you expressly waive it the moment a trial or paid subscription begins, so once you have started using the service it generally no longer applies. If you believe you qualify for a refund, you must contact Spotify Customer Support (Spotify has no phone line; use the contact options at support.spotify.com). Spotify cannot refund payments made through third parties such as Apple/iTunes, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, or a partner provider; those requests go to that provider. Store-bought gift cards should be returned to the store, not refunded by Spotify. Verify exact terms against Spotify's official refund policy and Terms before relying on any refund.

Verified against Spotify's own help domain (cancel-premium, refund-policy, canceled-but-still-charged, contact-us) and the Spotify End User Agreement, plus Apple and Google official support pages, current as of June 2026. The official cancel page directs you to Manage your plan, then Cancel subscription, and the cancel_url returns a 302 to the Spotify login page (expected for logged-out users), confirming it is live. Spotify publishes no cancellation phone line and states it does not offer phone support, so phone and phone_hours are intentionally empty. Exact in-flow button wording and any save offer can vary slightly by account, plan type (Individual, Duo, Family, Student), and region; the switch-to-Free date on the account page is the reliable confirmation signal.
