How to cancel Audible

Steps to cancel Audible
- Confirm how you are billed first. If you signed up through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you CANNOT cancel on Audible's site and must cancel in that app store instead (see gotchas). To check on iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and look for Audible.
- If billed directly by Audible, go to audible.com on a desktop or mobile web browser and sign in. The Audible mobile app does NOT have a cancel option, so use a browser.
- Desktop web: select your username in the top navigation, then select Account Details.
- Mobile web: tap the hamburger menu (the three-line icon), then select your account.
- Select the Cancel Membership link.
- Audible will show retention and save offers and ask you to confirm. Keep selecting Continue (or Continue to cancel) through each screen, declining any offer, until you reach the cancellation confirmation page.
- Use any remaining credits BEFORE you finish, because unused credits are forfeited on cancellation of a direct-billed membership (titles already redeemed are yours to keep).
- Verify cancellation: you should receive an email confirmation, and your Account Details page should show the membership as canceled. Your access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
Audible cancellation phone
1-888-283-5051 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Per Audible's newsroom, live customer service is available 24x7 via phone, online chat, email, and social media. You can also say "Alexa, call Audible" on an Alexa device for hands-free 24/7 support.)
Things to watch out for
- The Audible mobile app cannot cancel a membership. Deleting the app does NOT cancel it. You must use a desktop or mobile web browser at audible.com.
- App-store billing trap: if you subscribed via the Apple App Store or Google Play, you MUST cancel in that store, not on Audible's site. Apple: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Audible > Cancel Subscription, then confirm. If you do not see Cancel Subscription, it is already canceled.
- Unused credits are forfeited when you cancel a direct-billed membership. Redeem them before completing cancellation. Credits from an App Store or Google Play subscription do not expire and remain in your account after cancellation.
- Cancellation does not stop the current billing period and no refund is given for the unused remainder of a period you already paid for. Access continues until the period ends.
- Free trial: to avoid being charged for the first paid period, cancel via Account Details at least 24 hours before the trial end date.
- Annual plans are not eligible to pause. Pausing is only available on monthly (non-annual) plans.
Refunds
Audible does not refund fees for voluntarily canceling mid-cycle; you keep access until the current paid billing period ends. Unused credits are lost on cancellation of a direct-billed membership (redeemed titles are kept). For billing errors or accidental renewals, contact Audible customer service at 1-888-283-5051 to ask about a refund.
Alternative to canceling: monthly-plan members (not annual) who have at least 30 days of paid membership can PAUSE for 30, 60, or 90 days, up to 90 total days per 12-month period. Pausing also pauses billing and preserves existing credits, so it is the better option if you want to keep credits. Pause and resume via Account Details. CAUTION: a third-party page (intercom.help, not Audible) advertises +1-917-672-8608 as an "Audible cancellations" line; that is NOT an official Audible number and was excluded. Use only 1-888-283-5051 from audible.com/contactus.
