Go to the BarkBox cancellation page →If you subscribed through an app store: BarkBox is primarily billed directly through barkbox.com (card on file), and the standard cancel path is the website account page (Subscription Settings > disable auto-renewal). However, if you originally subscribed through the BarkBox mobile app, billing may run through Apple (iOS) or Google Play, in which case the website toggle will not cancel it: you must cancel in Apple Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or in the Google Play Store > Subscriptions. Check your charge receipt to see whether the biller is BARK, Apple, or Google. This app-store routing comes from third-party guides and is not stated on the official BARK FAQ, so confirm against your own receipt.
Steps to cancel BarkBox
- Log in to your BarkBox account at barkbox.com and open your account page.
- Scroll to the 'Subscription Settings' section of your account page.
- Click the box to edit your subscription information.
- Disable the auto-renewal at the end of your plan (or use 'Disable Subscription Autorenewal' to stop the current plan from renewing).
- Confirm the change. Disabling auto-renewal stops the renewal once your commitment period ends, but you will still receive the boxes you originally signed up for.
- If you cannot find the option, or you are on a prepaid 6 or 12-month plan, contact BARK's Happy team by email at happy@barkbox.com or use the live chat on the BARK website, and ask them to cancel. Keep the confirmation email.
Things to watch out for
- Timing: cancellation requests received after the first day of the calendar month following the end of your current subscription period apply to the NEXT period, so you can be billed for another cycle. BARK processes billing around the 3rd of the month, so cancel well before your renewal month's billing date.
- Disabling auto-renewal does not stop boxes already committed to. You will still receive (and pay for) the remaining boxes of your current plan.
- Prepaid multi-month plans (3, 6, or 12 months) cannot be ended early. You are charged each month through the full term even if you cancel partway. Any refund must be requested from the Happy team (happy@barkbox.com) and is not guaranteed.
- App-store billing: if you signed up through the BarkBox iOS app you may need to cancel via Apple (iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions); if through the Android app, cancel via the Google Play Store > Subscriptions. A website toggle will not stop an Apple- or Google-billed subscription. This app-store routing is reported by third-party guides, not the official BARK FAQ, so check your charge receipt to confirm whether the biller is BARK, Apple, or Google.
- Phone: BARK does not advertise an official cancellation phone line on its contact page. The bark.co contact page lists a text/SMS support line (202-846-2275), live chat, and email only. Third-party guides list conflicting numbers (for example 833-227-5686, 855-944-2275, 888-960-0526) that could not be confirmed on an official BARK page, so prefer the in-account toggle, happy@barkbox.com, or live chat.
- Free trial: if a free-trial promo applies, cancel within the trial window to avoid being charged. Free-trial terms vary by promotion and were not confirmed on the official BARK FAQ.
Refunds
Disabling auto-renewal is not a refund. You still receive (and pay for) boxes already in your current plan. Prepaid 3, 6, or 12-month plans cannot be ended early and are charged each month through the full term; any refund must be requested from BARK's Happy team (happy@barkbox.com) and is not guaranteed. If a free-trial promo applies and you cancel within the trial window, you should not be charged.
