How to cancel Dashlane

Steps to cancel Dashlane
- IF YOU PAID THROUGH AN APP STORE, SKIP TO THE GOTCHAS: Dashlane bought via the Apple App Store or Google Play cannot be canceled inside Dashlane. You must cancel in that store (see gotchas).
- For subscriptions bought directly from Dashlane (charged by Dashlane, not an app store): Sign in to your account in the Dashlane web app at https://app.dashlane.com (or the desktop/browser-extension app).
- Open the Vault menu in the top-left of the app.
- Select 'Subscription'.
- On the Subscription page, select 'Cancel your subscription' in the right panel.
- On the next page, select 'Continue cancellation' and follow any remaining prompts to confirm.
- Auto-renewal is turned off; you keep the plan until the end of the current billing period. Optional: to also get money back, request a refund within 30 days of purchase (see refund note).
- Optional: export your passwords first. After the subscription ends, saved data stays in your account but passwords become export-only (you can't add, edit, copy, or view them in Dashlane).
Things to watch out for
- App-store billing: If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel in Settings on your iPhone/iPad: tap your name > Subscriptions > Dashlane > 'Cancel Subscription'. There is no cancel button for this inside Dashlane.
- Google Play billing: Dashlane states Google Play subscriptions do not auto-renew and there is nothing to cancel, but to be safe cancel at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions (or Play Store app > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Dashlane > Cancel subscription).
- Free trial: You only need to cancel to avoid charges if you entered payment details when starting the Premium trial. If no payment details were entered, the trial just ends on its own.
- Cancel before the renewal/trial date (Dashlane billing is automated). Canceling stops the NEXT charge but does not refund the current period on its own; request a refund separately if eligible.
- Cancellation only stops auto-renew. You keep access until the period ends; after that, passwords are export-only unless you resubscribe.
- Where you cancel must match where you were billed. If Apple/Google billed you, canceling in the Dashlane web app will not stop the charge.
- The 'Cancel your subscription' option only appears when you use Dashlane in a computer web browser, not in the mobile apps or the macOS app.
Refunds
Dashlane offers a full refund (30-day money-back guarantee) if you cancel within 30 days of buying the subscription (direct/Dashlane-billed purchases, credit card on the website). After canceling, the 'Request refund' option appears in the right panel; do not navigate away before requesting it. If you can't find it, use 'Chat with bot' on the Dashlane support site. Refunds to your credit card typically arrive in 3-5 business days. For PayPal purchases, use 'Chat with bot' and provide the invoice number from your PayPal receipt. For App Store or Google Play purchases, refunds are handled by Apple/Google, not Dashlane.
Cancellation is fully self-service online or in-app; no phone call or store visit is required. The direct path is inside the logged-in Dashlane web app (Vault menu > Subscription > Cancel your subscription > Continue cancellation), and that path is confirmed verbatim on Dashlane's official support article. Note the cancel option only shows in a desktop web browser, not in the mobile/macOS apps. Dashlane has no public phone support line found on its official help domain (support is via chat bot / web), so the phone field is intentionally left empty. There is no dedicated standalone cancel URL on Dashlane's marketing site; cancellation lives inside the logged-in account, so cancel_url points to the app login (https://app.dashlane.com).
