How to cancel Blinkist

Steps to cancel Blinkist
- FIRST, find out HOW you were billed - this determines where you cancel. If you subscribed directly on the Blinkist website, cancel on the web. If you subscribed inside the iPhone/iPad app, you were billed by Apple - cancel in Apple Settings. If you subscribed in the Android app, you were billed by Google - cancel in Google Play. Blinkist cannot cancel an app-store subscription for you.
- WEB (subscribed directly on blinkist.com): Sign in at blinkist.com on a browser and open your account Settings.
- WEB: In Settings, find the subscription section and choose the option to cancel your subscription (deactivate automatic renewal), then follow the prompts to confirm.
- WEB: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription cycle - you keep Premium access until then, and cancellation only stops auto-renewal. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal or trial-end date.
- APPLE (billed via App Store): Open iPhone/iPad Settings, tap your name at the top, tap 'Subscriptions', tap 'Blinkist', then tap 'Cancel Subscription'. Blinkist directs Apple-billed users to Apple's own cancellation instructions.
- GOOGLE (billed via Google Play): Go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions (or Play Store app > profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions), select Blinkist, then tap 'Cancel subscription' and confirm.
- REFUND (optional, only if within 14 days of the start of a first-time subscription): email support@blinkist.com to request a refund under the 14-day money-back guarantee. App-store charges may instead need to be refunded by Apple or Google.
Things to watch out for
- Blinkist has NO phone support. The only direct contact is email: support@blinkist.com. Ignore any 'Blinkist cancellation phone number' from third-party sites - they are not official.
- You must cancel where you were billed. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancelling cannot be done inside Blinkist's own settings - you must cancel via Apple/Google, or it will keep renewing.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period (or before your free trial ends) or you'll be charged for the next cycle.
- Cancelling does NOT end access immediately and does NOT auto-refund - it only stops the next auto-renewal; you keep Premium until the current paid period ends.
- Refunds: a 14-day money-back guarantee applies from the start of the subscription and only to first-time purchases (not auto-renewals). After 14 days Blinkist states it does not offer refunds. Request via support@blinkist.com.
- Google Play may show a pre-authorization charge up to 24 hours in advance that can take up to 14 business days to drop off - this is not a real second charge.
- Cancelling a subscription is different from deleting your account - deleting your account does NOT cancel a paid subscription, so cancel first or you may keep getting charged.
Refunds
14-day money-back guarantee from the start of the subscription, applying only to first-time purchases (not auto-renewals) - request a full refund within that window by emailing support@blinkist.com. After 14 days Blinkist states it does not offer refunds. App-store purchases may need to be refunded through Apple or Google instead.
Blinkist's official help article confirms self-serve cancellation in your account Settings (web) but does NOT publish a precise label-by-label menu path or a 'Cancel Your Subscription' section name - those specifics appear only on third-party blogs, so the web step here is kept to what the official article supports (Settings > subscription section > cancel/deactivate auto-renewal). Phone left empty because Blinkist offers no phone support (email-only: support@blinkist.com). For app-store subscriptions the in-app/Blinkist path redirects you to Apple/Google to actually cancel.
